Solar Impact is a leading solar installer in North Central Florida with a seasoned team of solar professionals. Since our founding in 2007, we have successfully installed hundreds of solar arrays, including landmark solar projects around the state of Florida. We proudly operate an employee-owned company that is working toward B Certification. Our full-time staff includes 23 employees and employee-owners. All positions have ownership opportunities. Our customer base includes homeowners, small businesses, public schools, multi-national companies, agricultural businesses, utilities, and many of our own employee-owners. Job Summary: We are looking to add an Electrical Apprentice & Solar/Battery Installer to our passionate and experienced Operations Team. Candidates for this role will have 1-2 years of previous electrical and construction experience. Primary job duties include: installing safe and efficient solar PV systems, constantly maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and communicating with customers in a professional and positive manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain a safe work environment, and will be expected to follow Solar Impact and OSHA required safety protocols at all times
  • Work with a team of fellow installers assembling all components related to a solar installation, including; job prep, roof layout, racking and attachment installation, wiring and conduit assembly, and system monitoring installation
  • Organization of tools and parts on installation vehicle and in the warehouse will be crucial to the success of this role
  • Participate in online and in-person training related to safety and solar installation
  • Must show up on time and ready to work each day
  • Communicate regularly with team members to ensure projects are moving along safely, quickly, and efficiently
  • Review projects post-install to determine areas for efficiency improvement
  • Participate in Santa Fe College electrical apprentice program
  • Night and weekend availability occasionally required to meet project needs
  • Multi-day and overnight travel to local and regional job sites may be required

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable climbing ladders, working on rooftops, and regularly lifting heavy objects
  • Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Candidates will be required to pass a fit-for-duty exam
  • Must have high self-motivation to excel in job role & have a passion for the solar industry in general
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and be insurable to drive company vehicles
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable means of transportation are required
  • Must be able to manage a high volume of tasks concurrently
  • Must work well in a team environment where collaboration and feedback are encouraged
  • Strong commitment to the environment
  • High School Diploma or GED
